Expectations & Things to Consider:
Spring and summer are extremely busy times for any lawn mower/ small engine shop. It is unrealistic to expect the fastest turnaround during the mowing season. For this reason, we strongly encourage having repairs & service done during the winter months. November is perfect for this.

During spring and summer, you should plan on borrowing or renting a mower while yours is in the shop. If you are concerned about how your lawn looks, please have your backup plan in place and a mower lined up BEFORE your mower arrives at the shop.

If you’re wondering about the status of your machine, you may call us at (850)-224-5613. We may (or may not) give you an ESTIMATED time frame for when we might BEGIN working on your machine. We will NOT give you a timeline for COMPLETION, as there are simply too many variables.

The amount of time we may have your machine depends almost entirely on how in-depth every job before and including yours ends up being.

Equipment purchased from our store will always be scheduled to be repaired ahead of anything not purchased from us. That does not necessarily mean that we will be able to get to it right away, as we do get busy and the service department fills up, but rest assured that anything purchased from us takes precedence. We are able to take in units that are not purchased from us for service/ repair as long as we are able to acquire parts for them. We buy parts through manufacturer distributors and do not use any third-party sellers.

Transportation of Equipment:

We offer a pickup and delivery service for any mower that was purchased within our store. The charge for transportation is $100 within 15 miles of our store. An additional $8 per mile is added to any mile outside of the 15 mile radius. One-way trips carry a $60 charge within 15 miles and an additional $6 for any mile outside the 15 mile radius. Transportation charges are due in advance. The transportation fee covers hauling your equipment to our shop and back to your location.

  • If you are self-transporting your equipment, we ask that you pick it up within 2 days of completion (excluding weekends & major holidays). If you don’t have your own truck/trailer, please make sure the borrowed vehicle will be available on short notice when the job is completed.
  • Due to space limitations, we cannot allow you to drop off your equipment prior to your scheduled appointment.
  • No equipment can be dropped off outside of our business hours.
  • The customer is responsible for all pickup and delivery expenses, even if the machine is in for warranty repair(s).
  • Repair/ service bills MUST BE PAID IN FULL before your equipment is able to be delivered! The driver carries NO CASH and CANNOT MAKE CHANGE.

Estimates:

Due to the amount of non-productive time involved with providing estimates, we typically don’t provide estimates in the following scenarios:

  • Walk-behind mower repairs under approximately $175, or 1/2 the current price of a comparable brand-new machine, whichever is greater, excluding pickup/delivery
  • Repairs to other types of equipment under approximately $500 or 1/2 the current price of a comparable brand-new machine, whichever is greater, excluding pickup/delivery
  • Higher-priced jobs will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • You can specify a “call-if-over” limit. For example, you could tell us to call you if the job will cost more than $550. In this example, we would ONLY call you if the price will exceed $550. If it’s $550 or less, we would complete the job without calling you with an estimate.
  • Please be advised that estimates (on average) delay the entire repair process by at least 4-6 business days.

Typical repair costs are as follows:

  • Commercial Zero Turn: $200 – $500
  • Riding Mowers: $150 – $300
  • Push Mowers/ Self-Propel Mowers: $100 – $250
  • Line Trimmer/ Edger: $75 – $150
  • Chainsaw/ Hedge Trimmer: $75 – $150
  • Handheld Blower/ Backpack Blower: $75 – $150
  • Cutsaw: $100 – $500
  • Pressure Washer/ Generator/ Air Compressor: $100 – $300

Keep in mind, that these are average prices as every case is unique. Your bill may be significantly lower or higher than the chart indicates.

Diagnostic Fee/Deposit:

We take prepaid deposits on any equipment that is not purchased from us at the time of drop-off. This deposit will be applied to your total service/ repair bill. If a deposit is not paid at time of drop-off, we can still take in your equipment but will not be able to start work on the equipment until the deposit is paid. The deposit prices are as follows:

Deposits

  • Zero Turn, Riding Mower: $90
  • Push Mowers/ Self-propel Mowers: $45
  • Line Trimmers, Edgers, Chainsaws, Hedge Trimmers, Handheld Blowers: $30
  • Backpack Blower: $45
  • Cutsaw: $90
  • Pressure Washer, Generator, Air Compressor: $90

BE ADVISED! Your equipment may be turned away at time of drop-off due to things that may be out of our control. Parts availability on many different brands of equipment are becoming very hard to get a hold of, while others may take weeks if not months to get in. We would rather let you know this upfront as opposed to hanging onto your equipment and telling you at a later date that we cannot work on your equipment due to unforeseen circumstances.

  • A $45 prepaid diagnostic fee/deposit is required for repairs of conventional walk behind mowers 22″ wide or less.
  • A $90 prepaid diagnostic fee/deposit is required for all other repairs, except as described below.
  • This prepaid amount doubles as your appointment deposit and is applied to your total. To be clear, there is usually additional expense beyond the diagnostic fee, once the job is complete.
  • You cannot leave a piece of equipment for repair without paying the diagnostic fee, even if you tell us you will “be right back” with the payment. You will have to take the equipment with you and come see us when you are prepared to pay the diagnostic fee.
  • Unconventional projects may require a higher diagnostic fee/deposit. See explanation below.
  • Payment of diagnostic fee/deposit is required for all generators, regardless of the reason they’re coming in.
  • Diagnostic fees are non-refundable, no exceptions.
  • Diagnostic fees do not count toward the disposal of retired equipment.

Unconventional, Unusually Large, “In Depth” Projects:

From time to time we may be asked to complete a project that falls outside the realm of “normal” lawn equipment, or needing more than the usual types of repairs. We generally will turn down these types of projects during our busiest months. If we accept the project, diagnostic fees and/or hourly rates for these jobs will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may also require pre-approval up to a certain price. We reserve the right to refuse any job for any reason.

Machines Older than 20 Years:

Depending on the condition of the machine and the possibility of obsolescence of parts, we reserve the right to require a higher diagnostic fee, or refuse the job altogether, on machines older than approximately 20 years.

Unsafe Equipment:

From time to time we encounter a mower that is in unsafe condition to operate, and the cost of repairs to make it safe would simply not make economic sense.

Other times, we may encounter a mower that needs multiple repairs in order to be reliable, but the customer only approves some of the repairs. We may refuse to work on it at all, unless all recommended repairs are approved.

If the customer only approves SOME of the repairs, it opens up the possibility that the customer may want to blame us for a future breakdown, when in fact the issue was caused by the customer declining some of the needed repairs. We try our best to avoid situations such as these because NOBODY is happy when things like this come up.

PLEASE use your best judgment about the condition of your mower before you decide to have us make the trip to pick it up. If the machine is deemed unsafe or no longer viable once it’s in the shop, we’ll probably refuse the job. Diagnostic and transportation fees are not refundable, even in these cases.

  • The two most common reasons why a mower is deemed unsafe and beyond economical repair:
  • Rust hole(s)/extensive rust pitting in the mower deck
  • Electrical systems that have been modified in an effort to defeat the operator safety system

Non-Repaired Equipment:

  • Non-repaired equipment will NOT be reassembled unless you choose to pay for reassembly.
  • Should you decide to pick up your equipment prior to completion, you will forfeit your diagnostic fee/deposit.
  • Diagnostic fees do not cover reassembly.
  • Disposal of retired equipment is available starting at $27 per unit; price depends on equipment type. The disposal fee is in addition to your diagnostic fee/deposit.

Manufacturer’s Warranty:

  • Your warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Fuel-related issues are not covered by warranty.
  • Problems arising due to abuse, neglect, modification, lack of proper maintenance, improper handling, and/or improper storage are not covered by warranty.
  • Transportation costs are not covered by warranty.
  • Proof of purchase (including purchase date) is required.
  • Warranty coverage will be determined after diagnosis, and at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Our Guarantee:

We guarantee our work for a period of 30 calendar days from completion of the work. Fuel-related issues are not covered.

  • Problems arising due to abuse, neglect, modification, lack of proper maintenance, improper handling, and/or improper storage are not covered.
  • Transportation costs are not covered.
